Coursework in English with a minor in secondary education, observed senior teachers in 3 different teaching situations, tutored inner-city middle school students, completed student teaching.

General Education Credits 2007

Community College of Aurora-Aurora, CO, United States of America

Attended CCA 2006-2007 in order to attain general education credits to later transfer to a different school.

Psychology/General Education Credits 2006

University of Colorado at Denver-Denver, CO, United States of America

Attended UCD 2005-2006 in order to attain a Psychology degree, however only achieved general education credits.

EXPERIENCE

Chinese Language Learner 08/2016-06/2017

Northeast Normal University, Changchun, Jilin Province, China: Studied Chinese speaking, writing, grammar and listening in order to further understand the Chinese language and culture.

Substitute Teacher 12/2016-06/2017

District 49, Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA: Was a substitute teacher for K-12. Effectively managed students and carried out lesson plans for the original teacher who couldn’t be there.

Was also an 8-week long-term substitute at Sand Creek High School for grades 11-12. Taught general English, AP English, Yearbook and Mythology. Assigned and graded assignments, and kept up the gradebook until the teacher returned from maternity leave.

English Secondary Education Teacher 08/2012-06/2015

Tibet University- Lhasa, Tibet, China: Taught spoken and written English to 1st-3rdyear university students focusing on areas of grammar, pronunciation, speaking, reading, writing and culture in order to promote proper English language skills.

Jiangxi University of Technology (Formerly Blue Sky University)- Nanchang, Jiangxi, China: Taught English to 2nd-3rdyear students and teachers, focusing on areas of grammar, pronunciation, speaking, reading and culture in order to promote proper English language skills.

Sierra Middle School- Parker, CO: While observing experience teachers, gradually took over the classroom. Participated in parent-teacher conferences, oversaw a poetry and book unit, taught the writing process and received experience in general classroom management skills and tasks.
